Chandrababu Naidu Speaks About YSRCP’s Decision To Abolish Legislative Council

Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 24th of January, spoke about the decision of the State Government to abolish the Legislative Council.

On the 23rd of January, the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council decided to refer the two State capital decentralisation bills to a select committee.

Chandrababu Naidu also lashed out at the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government for the Assembly Speaker’s behaviour towards the TDP members with regard to asking them to leave the Assembly session.

Mr. Naidu said, “It is not the correct way to send the members of the house out without prior resolution or a notice.”

TDP President assured his Party’s Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) not to worry about the YSRCP’s decision to abolish the Legislative Council.  He said the TDP would reestablish the Legislative council if Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, repeals the Council.

He said, “I have never seen such a lunatic Chief Minister in my 40 years of the political experience (sic.)”

The YSRCP Government decided to abolish the Legislative Council and would take a decision regarding the same on the 27th of January.

Stay tuned for further updates.
