CID Additional Director Writes Letter To IT Commissioner

P.V. Sunil Kumar, the Additional Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) wrote a letter to the Principal Chief Commissioner (Income Tax [IT]) of A.P., regarding illegal trading in Amaravati.

On the 8th of February, Mr. Sunil Kumar wrote a letter about the illegal land assigned to buyers in Amaravati between 2018-2019.  He requested the Principal Chief Commissioner (IT) to investigate the lands assigned in Amaravati, the region finalised as the capital of the State by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.)

This is not the first time the TDP, the previous Government of A.P., was accused of illegal trading in Amaravati.  The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) the ruling Government of A.P., also alleged the Party of being involved in illegal land trading in Amaravati.

In his letter, Sunil Kumar asked the Principal Chief Commissioner (IT) to probe transactions exceeding Rs. 2 lakhs, made for the purchase of lands in Amaravati between 2018-2019.

In relation to this, Mr. Kumar forwarded an MS Excel sheet to the Principal Chief Commissioner of IT, consisting of a list of 106 buyers and sellers of land in Amaravati.  The Excel sheet includes details like the address of the land and the survey number.

The Principal Chief Commissioner of IT, along with his team, is expected to begin the investigation soon.

Stay tuned for further updates.
