Andhra Pradesh reported another big spike in the cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
In the last 24 hours, the State recorded 998 cases of the Coronavirus infection.
Till the 6th of July, Andhra Pradesh reported a total of 18,697 cases with 232 death cases.
Out of the total, 10,043 are active cases and 8,422 cured/discharged cases.
In the last 24 hours, the Andhra Pradesh Medical department conducted a total of 20,567 sample tests.
With the additional 20, 567 tests, Andhra Pradesh crossed 1 million tests in the State till the 6th of July.
The State conducted a total of 10,17,140 sample tests for the deadly virus.
Meanwhile, 14 new deaths were reported from Kurnool district (5,) followed by Anantapur (3,) Kadapa (2,) Chittoor (2,) Krishna (1) and Visakhapatnam district (1.)
Out of 998 new cases, highest number of positive cases reported in Guntur (157,) followed by East Godavari district with 118 cases, Kurnool with 97 cases, Srikakulam (96,) Visakhapatnam (88,) Anantapur (87,) Chittoor (74,) Krishna (62,) Kadapa (52,) Nellore (45,) West Godavari (40,) Prakasam (27) and Vizianagaram district (18.)
Remaining 37 cases were from different states (36) and countries (1.)
On the other hand, out of total 18,697 cases, Kurnool district continued to be the highest with a total of 2,451 cases, Anantapur district (2,186,) Guntur (1, 827,) Krishna (1, 743,) East Godavari (1, 607,) Chittoor (1,324,) Kadapa (1, 245,) West Godavari (1, 164,) Nellore (730,) Visakhapatnam (721,) Prakasam (700,) Vizianagaram (215) and Srikakulam (189.)
Other 2,179 and 416 positive cases of the Novel Coronavirus are residents of Andhra Pradesh from different states and countries respectively.
The recovery rate of Andhra Pradesh from the disease is also better at 45.04 %.
Whereas, average growth rate of the Novel Coronavirus in the State is 5% and mortality rate is 1.24%.
