Covid-19 Updates: Andhra Pradesh And Telangana Witnesses Massive Rise In Cases

In the past few days, the two Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana witnessed massive spike in the Novel Coronavirus cases. 

On the 9th of July, Telangana reported 1,879 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus and Andhra Pradesh reported 1,062 new cases of the infection.

With this both the Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has a total of 27,612 and 22,259 positive cases.

The surge in the cases came after the respective governments announced a few relaxations from the lockdown.

After the 8th of May, the Andhra Pradesh Government and the Telangana Government, announced opening of restaurants, hotels, bus services, malls and other religious places.

Since June, the cases started increasing, creating panic amongst the citizens of A.P., and Telangana.

Speaking about Telangana, the State Government recently increased testing laboratories and COVID-19 centres.

The Health Minister of Telangana also arranged the sports complex of TIMS, as another Coronavirus treatment centre to increase beds capacity for the COVID-19 patients.

In addition, the State Government is also in working to update a live dashboard regarding the availability of hospital beds, ventilators and other facilities for the citizens of Telangana.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh’s COVID-19 tally has touched 22,259 with 1,062 fresh cases and twelve more deaths.

Some of the districts with high number of COVID-19 cases are: East Godavari, Kurnool, Anantapur and Guntur.

In Telangana, hotspots for the spread of the Novel Coronavirus are: Rangareddy, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) Malkajgiri and Sangareddy.
