Balaji Marine Company, on the 30th of September, resumed the search operation to find the boat which drowned in the Godavari River.

On the 15th of September, a boat carrying 60 passengers capsized, leading to the death of approximately 46 passengers who drowned in the Godavari River.

After days of conducting the search operation, the rescue teams were unable to find the boat, which is said to be 350 m deep in the River.

The Andhra Pradesh Government gave the contract for the search operation to the Balaji Marine Company.

The rescue operations will begin from the 30th of September.

Dharmadi Satyam, the head of the Balaji Marine Company, will supervise the search operation.

In the wake of the search operation, the Andhra Pradesh Police restricted the residents of AP from going near the Godavari and also imposed Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in the area.

Mr. Satyam addressed the media and said the boat is stuck in sand, 210 feet below water level and assured his team would try best to bring the boat out.

Approximately 25 fishermen and a trained marine team will restart the search operation.
