The boat Royal Vasistha, which sank in the Godavari River on the 15th of September, was finally recovered on the 22nd of October.
On the 15th of September, a boat named Royal Vasistha capsized, taking the lives of approximately 38 people. There were 73 passengers on the boat, where 38 died and 25 survived and were rescued by the State Disaster Rescue Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF.) However, 10 bodies are still missing.
The Dharmadi Satyam team of the Balaji Marine company conducted a search operation to find the boat and finally extracted it out of the River.
With the help of scuba divers, the search operation was successful. The boat was about 300 feet deep and was taken out of the water after several failed attempts by various rescue teams.
Recently, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) announced the search operation would be stopped due to an increased water level in the Godavari River. However, on the 20th of October, the Dharmadi Satyam team started work again and took the boat out in three days.
Stay tuned for further updates.
