Visakhapatnam is all set to celebrate Navy Day on the 4th of December. The day is marked as National Navy Day because during the 1971 Indo-Pak War, the Indian Navy attacked the Karachi Harbour which resulted in the victory of India.
Organised by the Eastern Naval Command (ENC,) Navy Day has the Indian Navy showcasing its operational capabilities and activities. The rehearsal display was performed on the 29th of November and the 2nd of December from 4:00 P.M., to 6:00 P.M., whereas the final event is scheduled to be held on the 4th of December.
Citizens of Andhra Pradesh (AP) are waiting for the day as they would witness the operational display of activities of the Indian Navy, such as flying of jets, aircraft and others. The ENC requested the people residing in coastal Andhra Pradesh not to litter and avoid bringing food items to the event as it may attract birds and could pose a problem.
The event is scheduled to be held at RK Beach, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
This year, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, would attend the ENC organised Navy Day celebrations as the chief guest.
