Highlights of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy And Union Amit Shah’s Meeting In Delhi

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on the night of the 19th of January, met with Union Minister Amit Shah.

During the meeting with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Mr. Reddy discussed the pending issues of Andhra Pradesh.

According to a statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) during the meeting Mr. Reddy appealed to Mr. Shah to approve the revised cost of the Polavaram project.

The revised amount of the ongoing Polavaram Project is Rs. 55,656.87 crores.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy urged the Union Minister to release the Polavaram project dues of Rs. 1,644.23 crore, which has been pending since 2018.

The Chief Minister also demanded to consider the proposal and approve the shifting of the Andhra Pradesh High Court to Kurnool.

Mr. Reddy said, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government identified 250 acres of land in Vizianagaram and asked the Central Government to take an initiative to set up a tribal university for the tribal people of the State.

The Chief Minister also asked to provide special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

In addition, they also discussed the pending revenue dues and demanded the release of the revenue deficit dues of Rs. 18,830.87 crores.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also briefed Mr. Shah about the ongoing Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 vaccination drive.

Giving details about the vaccination programme, the Chief Minister said, the State Government decided to set up 13 medical colleges and started 3 medical colleges so far.

Mr. Reddy also urged the Union Government to release the dues of Rs. 4,282 crore to A.P., State Civil Supplies Corporation immediately for clearing dues for paddy procurement by self help groups.

In addition, Mr. Reddy asked for release of pending funds of Rs. 3,707.77 crores for NREGS works and increase the working days from the existing hundred to one hundred and fifty.

The Chief Minister also asked to release the fund of Rs. 529.95 crores to local bodies as per the 14th finance commission guidelines.

Lastly, Jagan Mohan Reddy sought the release of Rs. 2,255.7 crores for providing input subsidy in the Niwar cyclone.

The meeting lasted for one hour on the night of the 19th of January in New Delhi.

During his visit to New Delhi, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy is also likely to meet Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Shekhawat and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
