On the 27th of August, the Hyderabad Police registered a complaint against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President of Telangana, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

On Friday evening, a civil rights activist Mr. Syed Abadahu Kashaf filed a complaint stating that the Telangana unit BJP President was trying to trigger communal tension in Old Hyderabad. He said the BJP leaders put up a hoarding of Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar with the background of Charminar and in the hoarding there is a BJP flag on the top of historic Charminar.

Before filing a complaint, the activist took to Twitter and posted pictures of BJP leaders and President Bandi Sanjay Kumar, accusing them of trying to trigger communal harmony in the area.

The tweet in which Mr. Syed Abadahu Kashaf tagged the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police (CP) Mr. Anajani Kumar, read, “Dear @CPHydCity, #BJP is trying to trigger Communal tension in Hyderabad. A picture of 400+ year old Masjid #Charminar with a BJP Flag on it was put at Abids,Hyd . It also have pictures of PM, HM, BJP MPs and other leaders. We will also register a case today 5:00 PM at Abids PS (sic.)”

Later, in the evening, Mr. Syed Abadahu Kashaf, who is also a former Information Technology (IT) Cell head of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM,) filed the complaint with the Abids Police Station.

However, the police said they would investigate the matter and after the investigation, would file a first information report (FIR.)

Meanwhile, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Central Enforcement Cell has imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000 against the BJP leaders for putting hoardings across the City without permission.

The CEC took to Twitter and said, “Whereas it is found that without the written permission of competent authority you have placed wall writings, the articles mentioned below, which is an inconvenience/obstruction/nuisance, which is an offence committed under the above mentioned Sections of GHMC Act.”

After the GHMC CEC took action, Mr. Syed Abadahu Kashaf, posted a tweet and said, “One man with Courage is Majority.

On the other hand, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar is all set to launch a Statewide Padayatra (walkabout to meet constituents.) The padayatra would be launched today, the 26th of August, as an effort to strengthen the BJP in Telangana. In order to establish a strong hold of the BJP in Telangana, the Telangana BJP President would conduct the padyatra for two months, until the 24th of October.
