Hyderabad Police Arrests Opposition Leaders, Opposition tries to lay siege to Secretariat, Mango News, new Secretariat buildings Construction, heritage site Errum Manzil demolition, Opposition Leaders against demolition of old buildings, New Secretariat and Assembly Buildings Construction Case, protest against demolition of Assembly and Secretariat buildings

The Hyderabad Police, on the 25th of July, arrested several leaders of the opposition parties at Indira Park.

Leaders of the Indian National Congress (INC,) the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) were conducting a protest from Indira Park to Dharna Chowk when the Hyderabad Police arrested them.

The protest was said to be against the construction of new Secretariat buildings, after the demolition of the heritage site Errum Manzil in Telangana.

The leaders, who are against the demolition of old buildings for the construction of new ones, raised their voice against the K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)

L. Ramana, a member of the TDP, upset with the TRS Government, said they will not allow KCR to spend public money uselessly and will protest against the same.

The leaders also met E.S. L. Narasimhan, the Governor of Telangana and asked him to take action against the TRS, which wants to demolish old buildings.

L. Ramana and Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy of the TDP were arrested and sent to Goshamahal Police Station, whereas N. Balamallesh, a leader of the CPI, was placed under house arrest in Jawaharnagar.

Ravula Chandrasekhar, Kodandaram and Indira Shoban were among the leaders who were arrested by the police.
