The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD,) on the 2nd of August, issued a statement, stating Southern India will receive heavy rainfall in the coming days.

According to the forecast, due to the effect of a depression in western Bay of Bengal, heavy rainfall occurred in Northern, Eastern and Central India.

Places like Maharashtra, Gujarat and Kolkata are witnessing heavy rains with a cyclonic circulation.

As per the IMD weather forecast, the cyclonic circulation, which is in Thailand’s surroundings, will enter the Bay of Bengal, resulting in storms in Mumbai, Maharashtra.  The other places which are expected to experience showers are Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

On the 3rd and the 4th of August, both the Telugu States are expected to witness heavy rainfall in the coming days.

According to sources, in some coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) such as Yanam and Rayalaseema, thunderstorms are expected on the 3rd of August.

Apart from that, heavy rains from the 5th of August to the 8th of August are expected in Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad with a wind speed of 40 to 50 km per hour.
