Kona Raghupathi, the Deputy Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, on the 23rd of July, suspended three Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) from the ongoing Assembly session.

Atchannaidu, Gorantla Butchiah Chowdary and Nimmala Ramanaidu were suspended and are not allowed to attend the Budget session.

The AP Budget session started from the 11th of July and will continue till the 30th of July.

Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, the Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) proposed to suspend the TDP leaders and sought approval for the same from the Deputy Speaker.

The reason for suspending the MLAs was their behaviour, which disturbed the ongoing session.

During the Question Hour, Atchannaidu, Chowdhary and Ramanaidu raised questions about fee reimbursement, loan waiver for Dwarka women, pension and Panchayati raj for 45 years for women belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs,) the Scheduled Tribes (SCs) and the Backward Class (BCs.)

They also misbehaved and shouted slogans in the Assembly, following which, Buggana Rajendranath warned them and said Kona Raghupathi is not here to listen to their unnecessary questions.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) members decided to suspend the three MLAs and proposed the same.

On the 23rd of July, Kona Raghupathi asked the three TDP MLAs to leave and suspended them for the entire Budget session.

Despite being asked to leave, the MLAs stayed in the House and shouted slogans against the YSRCP Government.

Srikanth Reddy, the Chief Whip of AP and a member of the YSRCP, said those who do not follow the Assembly’s rules would be expelled from the House permanently.

The AP Budget session started at 9:00 A.M. at the Assembly House in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh.

Stay tuned for further updates.
