Tollywood Megastar Mr. Chiranjeevi is scheduled to meet Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)
The meeting came days after the Tollywood director Mr. Ram Gopal Varma met with the State Cabinet minister Mr. Perni Nani. The meeting was scheduled over the ongoing online movie ticket issue in the Telugu State.
Now, Mr. Chiranjeevi is going to meet Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, over the same matter. The meeting has been scheduled for the afternoon of the 13th of January, Thursday, at the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Camp Office in Tadepalli. The two would have a courtesy lunch meeting and are expected to discuss a number of issues related to the film industry. Mr. Chiranjeevi’s meeting with CM Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has aroused interest among political and film circles, especially when there is an ongoing war between the Tollywood Industry people and the YSRCP Government, over the recent online movie ticket orders.
It is to be noted, the YSRCP issued a Government Order (GO) announcing a new movie ticket portal. The YSRCP Government passed the order to set up a state run website for the online sale of cinema tickets in both single and multiplex theatres. The decision to enter the business of movie tickets was taken to ensure corruption free ticket selling and tax evasion from private companies. The sudden issued order of the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Government shocked the people of the Tollywood Industry and Cineplex and Multiplex businessmen. As per the new GO, the State Government would soon float a new online portal, selling movie tickets under the AP State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation.
Notably, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) formed a three member committee to make necessary recommendations regarding the movie ticket issue. The committee would examine the ongoing movie ticket issue between Tollywood film industry and the Andhra Pradesh Government. They would submit a report to the YSRCP Government.
