Nara Lokesh, the General Secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 30th of August, staged a protest against the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)

The protest was supported by many TDP leaders, against the increasing prices of sand in Andhra Pradesh (AP) after the YSRCP came to power.

N. Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the TDP, called TDP leaders and asked them to take part in the statewide protest at Mangalagiri, AP.

The TDP leaders demanded a reduction in the price of sand and a solution to the shortage of sand in the State.

Chandrababu Naidu, the former Chief Minister of AP, took to Twitter and said the price of sand became higher than cement’s after the YSRCP came to power in AP.

Naidu further added approximately 20 lakh construction workers are facing difficulties in the State due to shortage and high prices.

Naidu assured the support of the TDP to workers who lost their jobs due to the matter.

Nara Lokesh criticised the State Government led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and said since the YSRCP came to power, the sand prices increased 9 times.  He further highlighted the unemployment of workers and said thousands of workers lost their jobs after the YSRCP ordered to stop all kinds of construction in Amaravati.
