Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES) for donations to fight the pandemic crisis.
PM Modi asked people to contribute to the PM-CARES Fund to tackle the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
The Novel Coronavirus infected 6 lakh people and killed nearly 25,000 people globally.
Mr. Modi took to Twitter and urged the citizens of India to unite together and fight the crisis by contributing money for the prevention measures to PM Fund.
Mr. Modi said, “People from all walks of life expressed their desire to donate to India’s war against COVID-19. Respecting that spirit, the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund has been constituted. This will go a long way in creating a healthier India.”
Amid nation lockdown, cases of the Novel Coronavirus is increasing rapidly. In less than 24 hours 149 new cases were reported in India.
