Badminton player P.V. Sindhu, on the 29th of November, met Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP.)
The meeting was held on the evening of the 29th of November at the residence of Mr. Reddy in Tadepalli, Andhra Pradesh.
P.V. Sindhu is working as a Deputy Collector in Andhra Pradesh Government since August 2017. During the meeting, P.V. Sindhu discussed the upcoming Tokyo Olympics and requested Jagan Mohan Reddy to consider her leave as on duty as she would be preparing for the Olympics.
Ms. Sindhu is going to participate in the 2020 Summer Olympics to be held in Tokyo.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy formally accepted her request and released a notice regarding the same.
Mr. Reddy also informed her the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is searching for vacant plots to help her establish a badminton academy in Visakhapatnam. Sindhu requested the Government to provide her 7 acres land in Visakhapatnam for a women’s badminton academy.
The badminton matches of the 2020 Summer Olympics are scheduled to begin from the 24th of July 2020 and would continue till the 9th of August 2020.
