The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD,) on the 22nd of October, issued a rain alert for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
According to IMD, from the 22nd of October to the 25th of October, a few regions of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to witness heavy rain, whereas other places may have moderate rainfall.
According to sources, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are also expected to get heavy rainfall. According to the weather department, the rain could be due to the cyclonic circulation from West Bengal’s Bay of Bengal to Telangana and the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh.
The Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) also issued a heavy rainfall alert for Rayalaseema till the 25th of October.
The rain would affect crops and could be a matter of concern for farmers, in terms of crop damage.
On the other hand, in Telangana, surface troughs could bring heavy rains. On the 22nd of October, several places in Telangana recorded moderate rains, whereas, Kukatpally, Ameerpet, Malakpet and Dilsukhnagar witnessed heavy showers.
The rainfall is creating trouble for daily commuters, especially two wheeler riders. Areas like HITEC City and others are struggling with heavy traffic jams. However, the Telangana Police and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) personnel are taking adequate measures to prevent traffic jams in the City.
The rainfall in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh may continue till the 25th of October.
