Solar Eclipse 2020: Tirupati Temples To Remain Closed For Darshan

Temples of Tirupati would be closed on the 21st of June in the wake of solar eclipse.

Temples like Tiruchanur, Srinivasa Mangapuram, Appalayagunta will remain closed till 2:15 P.M., in the afternoon. 

Though temples in Tirupati would open after the eclipse, darshan to devotees would be suspended for the day. 

The temples would be closed after ekanta seva around 8:00 P.M.,on the 20th of June and would open directly on the 21st of June at 2:30 

After the Solar eclipse, temple priests would be performing purification rituals like Suddhi, Punyaha Vachanam. 

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) released a statement and suspended darshan for devotees on the 21st of June. 

After the opening of the shrine on Solar eclipse day, temples would perform rituals like Suprabatham, Sahasranamarchana, Nithyarchana and Naivedyam after which the temple would be closed at 8: 30 P.M., on the 21st of June. 

This is the first longest Solar eclipse of the year 2020, for 3 hours 20 minutes.

The solar eclipse would begin at 10:18 A.M., and would end at 1:38 P.M.
