In a recent development, one more leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) after resigning from the Party, decided to join an opposition party in Andhra Pradesh (AP.)
Adinarayana Reddy, a leader of the TDP, on the 21st of October, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) in Delhi.
J.P. Nadda, the Working President of the BJP, welcomed Adinarayana Reddy into the Party with a saffron shawl during an event in Delhi.
The decreasing members of the TDP in Andhra Pradesh is said to be a major drawback for the Party in the State. Adinarayana Reddy is the 10th leader of the TDP who switched loyalty from the TDP and joined the opposition party. He was one of the senior most leaders of the TDP.
The reason the TDP’s members are switching parties is said to be a failure of the TDP in the latest Assembly elections and Lok Sabha elections.
The TDP contested the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh and lost against the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)
