Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao and Kollu Ravindra, members of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) criticised Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) regarding the Machilipatnam port rumours.

On the 1st of August, Maheswara Rao and Ravindra addressed the media and asked Jagan to clarify his stand about Machilipatnam port.

The demand for the explanation came after there were reports stating the Y.S. Jagan led Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party will give the Machilipatnam port to the Telangana Government.

The TDP leaders said the Government secretly issued the Government Orders (GOs) to handover the port to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)  They also asked the AP Government to reveal the details about the transfer of the port and clarify who is going to construct the port—the TRS or the YSRCP.

The TDP leaders also criticised late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the former Chief Minister of AP.  They said, even in the past, late Rajasekhara Reddy also wanted to shift the port from Machilipatnam, but the residents of Machilipatnam protested against it and saved the port.

Mr. Rao and Mr. Ravindra said now, Jagan again initiated what his father wanted then and is trying to hand over the port to the TRS Government.

The TDP leaders also alleged Jagan is handing the port to the K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) led TRS because they extended financial help to the YSRCP during the AP election campaigns.

However, the YSRCP Government did not react to the allegations and comments of the TDP leaders regarding the Machilipatnam port.

Stay tuned for further updates.
