Leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 6th of November, are on a visit to Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh.

The TDP leaders aregoing to review the development in Amaravati.  The visit came after the allegations of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders, who said the TDP Government is the reason why the Capital of Andhra Pradesh is missing from the map of India.

The YSRCP said the former Government of AP, the TDP, robbed the citizens of AP in the name of developing Amaravati.

During his visit, the TDP leaders reviewed the buildings and other development projects constructed in the City.  They also criticized Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) for setting up an expert committee to review the possibility of growth in Amaravati as the capital of AP.

TDP leaders questioned what the expert committee is doing.  They said the TDP did nothing wrong and there was no mistake in selecting the capital of AP and acquiring land.

After the Government of India (GoI,) in its latest Indian map, did not mention the Capital of Andhra Pradesh, which became a matter of concern for AP and its citizens.

It has been 5 years since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh into two separate states, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.  Telangana declared Hyderabad as its capital, but AP is still struggling with selecting a State capital.

In 2014, TDP proposed Amaravati as the State’s capital, but could not make it official as Amaravati was still under development.  Later, in 2019, when the YSRCP came to power, they said Amaravati is not fit to be the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

Finalising the capital of Andhra Pradesh is one of the major issues in the State, especially after the new map of India did not mention Amaravati as the capital of AP.

Stay tuned for further updates.
