The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) concluded its annual conclave ‘Mahanadu’ on the 28th of May, Sunday.

The Nara Chandrababu Naidu led opposition party in Andhra Pradesh, released its draft manifesto.  The manifesto primarily focused on women by announcing Rs. 1,500 into the accounts of the women of ages between 18 and 59 without any stable financial conditions.  The amount would be given under the Adabidda Nidhi to lead their life on their own.

During his speech at the event, Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that women would be given priority in the state.  He also assured that the TDP would allow women to contest in the local bodies elections irrespective of the number of children they have.

In addition, for the welfare of Andhra Pradesh women, Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu also announced Rs. 15,000 to women under the Thalliki Vandanam.

Chandrababu further announced that he would give the three gas cylinders for free for every household and free travel for women in the RTC buses and opined that he would strengthen the women.

While announcing the sops to youth under the Yuva Galam, Chandrababu said that more than 20 lakhs jobs will be provided to the youth besides extending Rs. 3,000 for the unemployed youth.  He asked the youth not to yield to caste, and religious politics and called them to hit back at those who create rifts between people.

The TDP draft manifesto released during the Mahanadu event shows the main focus of the party would be youths of the State and women.  Besides women and youth, a special attention was given to farmers.  For the welfare of the farmers, Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu said, the TDP has decided to make the farmers profitable by providing financial assistance of Rs. 20,000.  He said as soon as the TDP comes to power, they would supply drinking water with free tap connections.

It is to be noted, the Telugu State of Andhra Pradesh would be contesting for the elections of State Assembly in 2024.  The party is making efforts to make a prominent political establishment in the State and stand strong against the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party.
