TDP MLC Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad Resigns From Post

Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad Rao, a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 21st of January, submitted his resignation. 

The decision of Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad came as a shock to the Party, which is already suffering due to the protests in Amaravati. 

Mr. Prasad submitted his resignation and decided to quit as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC.)

He did not attend the Council meeting called by Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the TDP. 

Besides Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad, TDP MLC P. Shamanthakamani also skipped the Council meeting. 

Mr. Dokka even released a statement which said he would not contest the direct local body elections in the future. 

The reason behind the resignation of Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad is yet to be known. 

TDP President Chandrababu Naidu and leaders of the Party did not comment about the resignation yet.
