TDP Nara Lokesh Critizes YS Jagan And Demands Strict Actions In Narasaraopet Murder Case

The Narasaraopet murder incident in Andhra Pradesh became a political issue with a war of words between the two opposition parties.

Nara Lokesh, the General Secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) criticised the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led Andhra Pradesh Government over yesterday’s brutal incident.

On the 24th of February, in the name of love, a degree student of Narasaraopet college murdered his classmate Anusha, a 19 year old student and dumped her body in the Narasaraopet area, A.P.

Vishnuvardhan Reddy, the accused took the victim (Anusha) to a secluded place in the afternoon and killed her brutally. He reportedly had an argument with Anusha and in a fit of rage, strangled her to death and later threw her body into a canal.

According to the initial investigation, they were in a relationship and were going through a rough phase.

The police also said, Vishnuvardhan was suspecting that Anusha had entered into another relationship and was cheating on him and in anger he killed her.

After committing the crime, he surrendered himself at the Narasaraopet Police Station.

Mr. Lokesh took to his Twitter handle and said, the State Government (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) should support the family of Anusha. He condemned the incident and demanded support of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Nara Lokesh even asked, what Mr. Reddy is doing for women and to protect them, why his government is not serving justice to women even though beasts like Harshavardhan are killing innocent people with such atrocities.

The incident created outrage amongst students and parents, who staged a protest in the town, demanding strict action against the accused. They gathered together and staged a protest and said the accused should be handed to them.

To control the situation, the Andhra Pradesh police deployed additional forces.

The police registered a case against Vishnuvardhan under section 302 of IPC (murder) at Narasaraopet police station.

The matter is under investigation.
