K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, on the 17th of October, handed over the ex gratia amount of Rs. 5 lakhs to the families of flood victims. 

Recently, due to the heavy rain in Telangana, as many as 50 people lost their lives in the State.

In regard to this, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 15th of October, announced a compensation of Rs. 5 lakhs to each family who lost their kin in the rain related incident.

Acting upon the announcement, KTR visited the flood victims’ families and handed over the cheques.

According to sources, K.T. Rama Rao visited the families in Gangan Pahad and Ali Nagar areas.

Mr. Rao handed over cheques to the people in Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad and other areas.

Along with KTR, the Telangana Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, Members of Parliament (MPs) like Asaduddin Owaisi, Ranjith Reddy, Rajendranagar Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Prakash Goud, Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Patnam Mahendar Reddy and the Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan also visited victim’s families.

MP Asaduddin Owaisi took to Twitter expressing concern for the families of people who passed away in flood related incidents.

In a tweet Mr. Owaisi said, “Consoled the families of people who tragically passed away in flooding related accidents in Alinagar & Gaganpahad.”

Meanwhile, the rescue operations and repair works are underway in Telangana.
