Telangana Reports 340 New Wuhan Virus Cases With 359 Recoveries And 2 Deaths

After reporting below 300 cases, the single day cases of the Wuhan virus witnessed a slight rise the next day. On the 30th of August, the State Health Department confirmed 340 new Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.

However, compared to other South Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the COVID-19 situation in Telangana is stable. With the efforts of the Telangana Government and constant review meetings, the COVID-19 situation in the State is said to be under control. The K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) controlled the second wave and now is preparing for the possible third wave of the deadly virus.

In the past 24 hours, Telangana reported 340 single day cases of (COVID-19) with 2 deaths and 359 recoveries. With this, Telangana now has 6,57,716 positive cases, of which 6,166 are active cases, 6,47,953 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,872 are deceased. On the evening of the 30th of August, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.

The new cases were confirmed after conducting 75,102 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.45 crores till date.

According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Rangareddy, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (72) cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Karimnagar with 42 cases.

In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 98.51 % from the previous 98.50% for the second day and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained constant for the past 10 days at 0.58 %.

It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic.
