Kannababu, the Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Disaster Commissioner, on the 29th of May, announced an alert from thunderbolts in the coastal areas of the State.
According to the State Disaster Management, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts would get a thunderbolts in the coming 24 hours.
The areas in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam which are on high alert are: Seethampeta, Kothuru, Palakonda, Burja, Regidi, Amudalavalasa, Sarubujjili, Lakshminarsupeta, Hiramandalam, Wangara, Veeragattam (Srikakulam.) Kurupam, Gargubilli, Balijipeta, Parvatipuram, Bobbili, Saluru, Pachipenta, Vepada, Sitanagaram (Vizianagaram) and Hukumpeta, Anantagiri and Arakuloya in Visakhapatnam.
Farmers, labourers herdsmen and fishermen are advised to be indoors and safe for the next 24 hours, on the 30th of May.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) alerted rains in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as the monsoon is expected to hit Kerala on the 1st of June.
Monsoon in Andhra Pradesh is expected to enter on the 10th of June.
