Balli Durga Prasad, the Member of Parliament of Tirupati, passed away on the 16th of September.
Mr. Durga Prasad, a member of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus and died due to the same.
He was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai and was undergoing treatment for the same.
Balli Durga Prasad initially was a member of the Government under the NTR’s Government and became a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Guduru in 1985.
He is from Gudur in the district and served as a legislator during 1985-1989, and between 1994 and 2014 for four times. He also served as Minister for Primary Education between 1996 and 1998 and also as Member of Public Accounts Committee between 2009 and 2014.
He later in 2019, just before the Assembly elections joined the YSRCP.
Durga Prasad was also active in the election campaign representing the YSRCP in 2019.
After serving as the MLA of Guduru, Durga Prasad won as MP of Tirupati Constituency.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and other MLAs and leaders of the YSRCP expressed their condolences to the demise of Durga Prasad.
