Vallbhaneni Vamsi Mohan, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) is soon going to join the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)
The news of Vamsi Mohan joining the ruling YSRCP came after his recent meeting with Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. On the 25th of October, Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan met Jagan Mohan Reddy at the latter’s residence in Tadepalli, Guntur District, AP.
During the meeting, which lasted for half an hour, Vamsi expressed his desire to join the YSRCP. Although this was the first formal meeting between Vamsi and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the duo are believed to have had a meeting earlier as well, regarding Vamsi becoming a YSRCP member.
YSRCP ministers Kodali Nani and Perni Nani were also present during the meeting.
Apart from YSRCP President Jagan Mohan Reddy, Vamsi also met Sujana Chowdary, a Member of Parliament (MP) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
Sujana Chowdary, who is now a BJP MP, was once a member of the TDP. However, he shifted his loyalty to the BJP.
The reason behind Vamsi switching parties could be the failure of the TDP in the 2019 Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
Another reason could be the multiple cases lodged against Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan by the YSRCP.
However, an official announcement regarding Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan joining the YSRCP is yet to be made.
