The Andhra Pradesh Government, on the 17th of July, made wearing a face mask compulsory in all public places.

The decision was imposed on people due to the rise of the Novel Coronavirus cases in the State.

K.S .Jawahar Reddy, Special Chief Secretary, Health, Medical and Family Welfare department has issued a Government Order (GO) RT No. 323 directing all the district collectors, joint collectors, Commissioners of Police, Superintendents of Police, Municipal Commissioners, sub collectors, RDOs, Tahasildars and MPDOs to give wide publicity and awareness to the people.

The concerned officials in respective districts and areas are responsible to inculcate the habit of wearing a face cover or mask compulsory in public places, workplaces and during transport for containing the spread of the virus.

The State Government has been enforcing this rule as the virus spread became rampant and thousands of people have been getting affected every day and tens of people losing lives.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Andhra Pradesh reported a total of 40,646 cases of the Novel Coronavirus. 

Out of the total, 19,814 are active cases, 20,298 are recovered cases and 534 deceased.
