Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) on the 21st of September, conducted a review meeting regarding the floods in Kurnool district.
Jagan Mohan Reddy chaired the meeting and directed the revenue officials and agriculture officials to visit the flood affected areas in Kurnool district and Rayalaseema, Andhra Pradesh.
According to sources, Kurnool and its 17 mandals recorded the highest rainfall this year which led to damages worth Rs. 784 crores.
Besides, 31,000 hectares of cropland and 2,000 hectares of horticultural crops were also damaged.
Jagan Mohan Reddy, during the meeting, also spoke about his upcoming meeting with K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana.
Both Jagan Mohan and KCR are going to meet on the 24th of September and discuss about the transfer of water from the Godavari river to the Krishna Basin and Rayalaseema.
Jagan Mohan Reddy concluded the meeting with an assurance that Rs. 2,000 would be given to every flood affected family and houses would also be built for them.
The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) ministers and officials attended the meeting.
