Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) on the 4th of November, conducted a review meeting with the Roads and Buildings Department of AP.
The meeting was conducted to discuss the ongoing sand shortage issue in Andhra Pradesh.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy chaired the meeting and said the sand shortage is temporary and would be resolved after the floods come under control. Since the majority of the areas are flooded, it is difficult to extract sand. As of now, only 69 places in Andhra Pradesh are available are extracting sand and supplying it across the State.
In addition, Jagan Mohan Reddy said lorries and trucks were unable to reach the required areas to supply the sand. Jagan said by the end of November, when the floods subside, sand would be available.
Speaking about the sand mafia in the State, Chief Minister Jagan said the corrupt system is now being replaced with a transparent Government and there would be no such incidents of sand stealing.
The meeting was organised after the opposition, the JanaSena Party, called for a march against the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) on the 3rd of November.
