YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Launches Farmers Welfare Programmes On Birth Anniversary Of YS Rajasekhara Reddy

On the occasion of the 71st birth anniversary of late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, announced welfare programmes for farmers of the State.

The 8th of July is celebrated as the Farmers Day in Andhra Pradesh as it marks the birth anniversary of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the father of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

On this occasion, amid the Novel Coronavirus pandemic crisis, the Andhra Pradesh Government announced Rs. 1,054 crores owed to farmers for interest free loans, promised during the reign of the former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Government.

In addition, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also released Rs. 54.6 crores dues to farmers under the 5 cooperative sugar factories in A.P.

He also laid the foundation for the construction of 125-foot Ambedkar statue at Swaraj Maidan in Vijayawada with remote control.

After the launch, CM YS Jagan spoke to the farmers and recalled the greatness of YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, said, “We are paying all the dues on a zero interest scheme and will make interest payments on Kharif loans for 2019-20 and Rabi loans in March.”

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy paid tribute to his father and visited YSR Ghat in Kadapa district.

The visit was organised amid the Novel Coronavirus spread in the State.

Andhra Pradesh recorded a total of 22,259 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 till the 8th of July.
