YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Launches Medical Unit Vehicles and 108 Ambulance Services In State

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) on the 1st of July, launched ambulance services in the State

On Wednesday, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, launched 108 ambulances and the 104 mobile medical units services.

As many as 1,088 vehicles would be run under the 108 and 104 services.

Out of the total 1,088 vehicles, 412 are ambulances and 676 are Mobile Medical Units (MMU.)

The vehicles are equipped with modern medical facilities like oxygen cylinders,ventilators, infusion pumps, syringe pumps, comfortable stretchers and have provisions for delivery.

The vehicles are also enabled with surveillance cameras to ensure proper health care monitoring by doctors.

In addition, out of 412 ambulance vehicles, 26 exclusive neonatal ambulances supported with the Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) are also there.

Delivery Locations and SNCUs are being mapped to provide early intervention during the transport to SNCU aiming, 10-12% reduction in Infant Mortality Rate (IMR.)

The launch was held at Benz Circle, Andhra Pradesh.

A.Kali Krishna Srinivas, Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy and officials of the Health Department of Andhra Pradesh participated in the launch ceremony.

The launch event was a gathering of limited people following social distancing norms.

The YSRCP Government invested an amount of Rs. 201 crores on the new ambulance and mobile medical unit launch.

The State Government launched the aforementioned services to enhance medical and health conditions in Andhra Pradesh.

Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas, the Health Minister of Andhra Pradesh said, “Introducing 108 and 104 emergency services is the brainchild of Late Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, which saved lakhs of lives. But during the TDP (Telugu Desam Party (TDP) regime, N. Chandrababu Naidu neglected and ruined the system. Even though the vehicles require minor repairs, he left them unattended and in a dilapidated condition.” He further added, “Soon after forming the Government, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy laid special focus on these services and determined to put them back on track, with added advanced features. Besides improving the facilities, we also generated job opportunities through these emergency vehicles.”

The new programme would reduce time issue for the arrival and would enhance the treatment system in Andhra Pradesh.
