Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on the 17th of February, met with the Joint Action Committee (JAC) Steel Plant Trade Union leaders.
During Mr. Jagan’s visit to Visakhapatnam, he assured union leaders of saving the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant from privatisation.
In addition, the leaders also submitted a memorandum to Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy seeking a resolution against privatisation of Visakhapatnam steel plant in the legislative assembly.
A union leader said, “We have faith in the words of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy; opposition parties are spreading false propaganda, everyone must fight together on the issue of privatisation of the steel plant.”
After the meeting in the morning of the 17th of February, Mr. Reddy visited the Sri Sharada Peetham in Pendurthi Mandal Chinamushidiwada and participated in the first day function organised by Sri Sharda Peetham.
Sri Sharda Peetham is an annual function celebrated and started from the 17th of February.
After participating in the Sharada Peetham annual celebrations, CM Jagan accompanied by the Swamijis there in a procession of Gopuja and Shami Vruksham, returned back.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy returned to Tadepalli at 2:00 P.M., on the 17th of February.
Mr. Jagah Mohan Reddy’s visit came a day after Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the National President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) visited Visakhapatnam over the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant privatisation matter.
