Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) addressed the World Economic Forum Conference on the 23rd of May, Monday.

Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke about the Future-Proofing Health Systems.  He participated in a WEF public session and described the steps taken to control the Wuhan virus in the Telugu State, Andhra Pradesh.  

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) also highlighted how the medical systems in the state are being strengthened.  He revealed the nature of the YSR Aarogyasri scheme, which provides medical assistance to underprivileged people in Andhra Pradesh.

In his speech,  Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the Wuhan virus pandemic control operation was implemented following the field conditions in Andhra Pradesh.  The State Health Department also surveyed 44 houses as a unit with one volunteer working for every 50 houses. Furthermore, the Andhra Pradesh Health Department also set up village clinics in a village with a population of 2,000 and two primary health centers with a population of 13,000.

Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also asserted that area hospitals, district hospitals, and teaching hospitals provide treatment for health problems beyond the zonal level.  He said, “We are setting up a medical college as every parliamentary unit with teaching colleges comes affiliated to these colleges.”   He further added, “The presence of medical colleges as a unit in each constituency will strengthen the medical system and a budget of $ 2 billion has already been allocated for this.”

Highlighting the health care facilities, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister said, in the past three years, the YSRCP Government has provided free medical facilities to approximately 25 lakh beneficiaries.
