It is to be noted, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government is working on Multi Purpose Facility Centres (MPFCs) at the Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs.)  These MPFCs would provide 15 types of infrastructure facilities including dry storage, drying platforms, godowns, horticulture infrastructure, primary processing centres, assaying equipment for farmers.

The ongoing development works come under the Nadu Nedu (then and now) initiative of the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Government.  Works in market yards and E-marketing, the estimated cost for these works is Rs. 2,930 crore.

In addition to the MPFCs, establishment works of community hiring centres, farm mechanisation high tech and high value hubs and others at RBKs are in line in the second phase of the development works.  Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “Besides, focus should be laid on improving the facilities at market yards under the Nadu-Nedu programme, and on the e-marketing system and farm mechanisation.”

In the second phase, approximately 3,250 community hiring centres, 500 harvesters and 85 high value hubs would be set up.  The estimated cost of establishing community hiring centres and hubs is Rs. 2,134 crores.

The establishment works would help farmers of the State, who could take all the necessary high level agriculture equipment through the established community hiring centres.

With this, shortage of labour would be eased and agriculture implements would be made available at low prices.  He said details of machinery with rental costs would take time as it would be decided after seeking suggestions from the Farmer Advisory Boards.

After the agriculture sector progressed, the YSRCP Government would improve the infrastructure of the Fishing Sector in the State.  The CM has set a deadline of 2022 end, for the fisheries sector infrastructure development at an estimated cost of Rs. 3,997 crores.

Yesterday’s review meeting was attended by the Agriculture Minister K. Kannababu, State Minister S. Appala Raju and the Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Mission Vice-Chairman M.V.S. Nagi Reddy.
