Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) directed the concerned authorities to further strengthen the Aarogyasri scheme in Andhra Pradesh. 

On the 28th of June, Tuesday, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted a review meeting on the recruitment of Aarogyasri staff in the Medical and Health Department.  The meeting was held at the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Camp Office in Tadepalli, Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “A letter should be given to the beneficiaries, mentioning the benefits received along with a confirmation‌ document with the details of Aarogya Aasara.  The DBT (direct benefit transfer) method should be followed for crediting the Aarogya Aasara amounts to the bank accounts of beneficiaries,” 

During the review meeting, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy suggested that special accounts should be opened for the beneficiaries without resorting to mistakes and irregularities in Aarogyasri.   He also mentioned transferring cash automatically from this account to the hospital that provided the treatment and suggested further increasing the number of treatments under the Aarogyasri scheme.  Currently, the YSR Aarogyasari scheme offers treatment for 2,436 diseases.

Furthermore, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy asked to have adequate vacancies in government and teaching hospitals.  He also directed the authorities to consider raising the retirement age of staff if necessary. 

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also asked the concerned authority and health department to complete 176 Primary Health Centres (PHCs)  and fill 2,072 posts in the medical field soon.  The State CM also informed that so far, the State Health Department recruited 40,188 posts, and process for 1,132 recruitment is underway.

Meanwhile, Ms. Vidadala Rajini, the State Health Minister , Chief Secretary Mr. Sameer Sharma, Mr. M.T. Krishnababu, the Medical and Health Principal Secretary, Mr. M. Ravichandra, the Principal Secretary (vaccination and COVID Management, Mr. K.V.V. Satyanarayana, the Finance Secretary, Mr. Muralidhar Reddy, the Vice Chancellor and Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Medical Services & Infrastructure Development Corporation (APMSIDC,) Mr. V.Vinay Chand, the Chie Executive Officer (CEO) of the YSR Aarogyasri and other dignitaries from the medical department, attended the meeting on the 28th of June.
