Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, would release the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme monies.
The new scheme, Jagananna Vidya Deevena, was launched in 2020. Under the scheme, approximately 11.04 lakh students from underprivileged families, are getting the benefit of free higher education. An amount of Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 per year, depending upon the degree, would be credited directly to the bank accounts of the student’s mothers in Andhra Pradesh. Nearly 11.04 lakh bank accounts are registered which would get the amount. Students pursuing Polytechnic, Degree, Engineering and Other PG Courses are eligible to apply for the scheme.
On the 11th of August, Thursday, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to visit Bapatla and release the third instalment of the scheme for beneficiaries in the State. Under the third tranche for the 2021–22 academic year, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government would deposit Rs. 649 crores in the accounts of students’ mothers. Approximately students and mothers would receive the various amounts in 2022.
The launch of the second instalment of the scheme would be held during an event organised at Bapatla. After disbursing the funds, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would address a public meeting.
