Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mr. Reddy is going to discuss the issue of the 3 State capitals in A.P., the abolition of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council and the ongoing protests in Amaravati.

Jagan Mohan Reddy flew to Delhi at 12:45 P.M., after conducting a Cabinet meeting in A.P.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) released a notification regarding the schedule of the A.P. CM during his visit to Delhi.

According to the CMO release, the A.P., Government was trying to get an appointment with Mr. Modi for a long time.  

The CMO sources said, “We have been trying for the PM’s appointment for some time now and suddenly we were informed today about the meeting on Wednesday (the 12th of February.)”

The meeting is expected to be an important one as the Central Government would take a decision about the abolition of the Legislative Council in Andhra Pradesh.

After the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council decided to send the two bills concerning the decentralisation of the State capital to a select committee for review, the A.P. Government passed a resolution to abolish the Legislative Council.

The A.P., CM is also expected to discuss the matter of granting a special category status to A.P., the expeditious release of funds for the Polavaram Project and others.

The meeting between Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to be held from 4:10 P.M., to 6:00 P.M., in Delhi.
