Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on the 1st of November, announced an initiative, the YSR Farmers’ Guarantee scheme, to help the families of the farmers who committed suicide.
Recently, many farmers killed themselves after they failed to get the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their crops. With the new financial assistance scheme, the families of such farmers would be benefited.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) officials to release the funds for the families.
Arun Kumar, the Agricultural Minister of Andhra Pradesh, said the YSRCP Agriculture Department of Andhra Pradesh allocated Rs. 13 crores to 13 districts, which would be given equally to the farmers’ families.
Arun Kumar said, “We have allocated Rs 13 crore.” The district collectors would give the money to the families.
The new YSR Farmer’s Guarantee scheme would help the families of the farmers who commit suicide or die unfortunately due to any reason.
The district collector would deposit the amount in the bank accounts of the farmers’ families.
