The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) on the 6th of November, appointed Neerabh Kumar Prasad as the Chief Secretary (CS) of Andhra Pradesh (AP.)
On the 6th of November, L.V. Subrahmanyam, the former CS of AP, was transferred and appointed Director General of the Human Resource Development Center (HRDC) of AP. Mr. Subrahmanyam would take over his new position from the 6th of December as he is going for a one month vacation, starting from the 6th of November.
After the transfer of L.V. Subrahmanyam, the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSRCP appointed Neerabh Kumar as the new CS.
However, the sudden transfer of L.V. Subrahmanyam became a matter of discussion. Opposition parties like the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) raised a question about the sudden replacement.
Kanna Laxminarayana, the President of the BJP in AP, said, “The sudden transfer of the AP CS proves the dictatorship of the Chief Minister.”
It is being said Subrahmanyam issued a show cause notice to Praveen Prakash, the Principal Secretary (Political) of the General Administration Department, due to which Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy ordered Subrahmanyam’s transfer.
However, an official announcement regarding the reason is yet to be made.
Neerabh Kumar Prasad is expected to take over as the new Chief Secretary of AP soon.
