YSRCP Cabinet Announces Financial Assistance To Cyclone Nivar Victims

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet concluded on the 27th of November, took various decisions regarding the ongoing situation in the State.

The meeting was chaired by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy.

During the meeting the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Cabinet decided to give financial assistance to Cyclone Nivar affected victims. In addition, Kanna Babu said three people were reported dead in Nellore district due to rains and floods caused by cyclone Nivar.

The YSRCP Minister Karasula Kanna Babu addressed the media and briefed about the Cabinet meeting.

According to the meeting, the YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy directed to start relief measures and informed that 30,000 hectares of agricultural crops in the State were damaged due to the Nivar cyclone.

Mr. Kannababu said the Cabinet has decided to provide financial aid of Rs. 500 for homeless people who are shifted to rehabilitation camps due to the impact of the cyclone. He also said that compensation should be given to the farmers who lost their crops by the end of December.

Kanna Babu also clarified about all the reports regarding the height of the Polavaram project. He said the height has been reduced are rumours and the project is of same height as planned before.

It is also noted that the cabinet has given nod for the payment of DA arrears to government employees and pensioners.
