The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) criticised Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s deeksha as a stunt to seek attention and make the matter a political issue.

On the 14th of November, Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) conducted a 12 hour deeksha against the ruling YSRCP over the sand crisis in Andhra Pradesh (AP.)

On the 14th of November, the YSRCP said it launched several reformative programmes for the development of the State, whereas the TDP is aimlessly criticising the YSRCP.

The YSRCP spoke about Naidu’s deeksha at a press conference the Party conducted on the 14th of November.  YSRCP Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) such as K. Parthasarathy, Vasantha Krishna Prasad and K. Anil Kumar attended the press meet.

During the press meet, the MLAs said Naidu’s strike was nothing more than a political stunt to get the attention of the public of AP.

The MLAs further said Naidu is just “shedding crocodile tears for a non issue of sand scarcity.”  Stating the TDP caused the sand crisis, K. Parthasarathy said Blue Frog Mobile Technologies, an Information Technology company, hacked the Government’s website Mana Sand Portal, which contains data about the sand in the State and created a false impression about the sand crisis.

The MLAs also cleared the reason behind the sand shortage and said the delay in the supply of sand is due to the floods in the State and would be resolved soon.  The YSRCP also launched a new Sand Mining Policy, which restricts all kinds of illegal supply and transportation of sand. If anyone is found violating the rules of the Sand Mining Policy, they would fined Rs. 2 lakhs by the YSRCP Government.

The YSRCP leaders also said while the State Government is celebrating Sand Week, it is a shame the Naidu led TDP is conducting a deeksha.

The YSRCP held the press meet in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.

Stay tuned for further updates.
