The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) filed a petition against Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.) 

On the 26th of May Gopal Reddy, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the YSRCP, filed a petition in the Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) High Court (HC) alleging Mr. Naidu of violating the lockdown rules.

Mr. Reddy in his petition wrote, Chandrababu Naidu who came back to Amaravati from Hyderabad on the 25th of May violated the guidelines of the lockdown in the State.  He said according to the lockdown guidelines, public gathering, political rallies and campaigns are restricted.   Despite the restrictions, TDP activists and cadres gathered in huge numbers and welcomed Chandrababu Naidu, who came back from Hyderabad after 2 months.    He also said the cadres welcoming Mr. Naidu at Nandigama, Garikapadu, Kanchikacherla, Gollapudi, Ibrahimpatnam and Vijayawada were without face masks and violated social distancing norms.

Mr. Naidu and his family went to his Hyderabad house before the lockdown due to the pandemic illness due to the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 started in the State.

Mr. Naidu along with his son Nara Lokesh travelled to Amaravati, A.P., by road after getting a green signal from the Telangana Government and A.P., Director General of Police (DGP) Gautam Sawang.

Days before the lockdown is proposed to end, DGP Sawang allowed Mr. Naidu and his group to travel and provided an e pass to them.
