On the 1st of November, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) organised a three day event to celebrate the Andhra Pradesh (AP) Formation Day.
The celebrations would continue for three days, until the 3rd of November, at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada, AP.
Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, would inaugurate the event as its chief guests.
During the three days’ celebration, the State Government decided to honour the families of the socialists who contributed to the formation of Andhra Pradesh. On the 1st of November 1956, Andhra Pradesh became a State, including the Telugu speaking region Telangana and Hyderabad. Since then, the 1st of November is known as the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day.
The State Government also organised a few events showcasing the tradition and culture of Andhra Pradesh.
On the 1st of November, during the event, handicrafts of Andhra Pradesh would be showcased, while the second day would be for Kuchipudi dance performances, fine arts, folk art performances and Surabhi dramas. On the third day, the State Government is expected to organise an exhibition showcasing Telugu customs and special Andhra Pradesh food.
YSRCP leaders, ministers and workers would attend the three day event.
