A special committee, constituted for Andhra Pradesh’s Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs,) on the 7th of November, is scheduled to meet officials of the Government of India (GoI) in Delhi.
During the meeting, the special committee would discuss the financial difficulties and problems related to the PPAs in Andhra Pradesh.
The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government, on the 4th of November, constituted a special committee to review the issues pertaining to the PPAs.
The members in the special committee include the Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE,) the Secretary of the Central Electricity Department, the Principal Secretary of the State Finance Department and the Secretary of the State Department of Energy.
The meeting was organised after the Government of India agreed to reduce the financial burden and negotiate the expenses put forth by the companies for the purchase of solar and wind power.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, on the 12th of October, wrote a letter to the Energy Department of the Central Government and explained about the problems faced due to the PPAs.
The meeting is scheduled on the afternoon of the 7th of November in Delhi.
