K.Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana, will inaugurate the most awaited, the Kaleshwaram irrigation project, on the 21st of June in Telangana.
Started in 2016, the construction of the Kaleshwaram project will provide irrigation to approximately 1 crore acres of land in the State.
The Telangana Government said the Kaleshwaram Project is one of the most expensive projects and is worth Rs. 80,500 crores. The Kaleshwaram irrigation project, would provide irrigation facilities for approximately 13 districts in Telangana, with barrage, reserves and drinking water supply.
According to sources, the project is divided into 7 links covering 13 districts and a canal network of 1,800 kilometres (km.)
KCR on the 21st of June will inaugurate the project built on the Godavari river, in Bhupalpally, Telangana.
Mr. Rao, on the 14th of June, personally visited Maharashtra to invite Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra to invite him for the inauguration of the project.
Rao also extended an invitation to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the event on the 21st of June.
