Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met the family of the Apple executive Vivek Tiwari today and accepted all the demands made by the family.

Vivek Tiwari who was an Assistant Sales Manager at Apple India was shot dead by UP cops on the 29th of September in Lucknow. The incident was witnessed by one of his colleagues, Sana Khan.

The widow of Vivek Tiwari, Kalpana Tiwari, demanded an amount of Rs. 1 crore as compensation, a job matching her educational qualification and an inquiry into the case by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The State Government gave the family Rs. 25 lakhs as compensation, Rs. 5 lakhs for the education of Vivek’s and Kalpana’s children and Rs. 5 lakhs to the victim’s elderly mother. The family was assured of protection and care.

Kalpana Tiwari stated to media, “He heard what I had to say and assured help. I had earlier also said that I have faith in our state government and today that faith has strengthened.” She further added, “All my demands have been met. I wanted strict action against the guilty, a job, accommodation, expenses for education of my daughters and my mother-in-law. The Chief Minister acceded to all my demands.”

The incident took place during the late hours of September 29 around 1:30 A.M., near Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow. Two policemen, identified as Prashant Chowdhary and Sandeep Kumar, allegedly shot Vivek Tiwari.

When asked about the incident, the accused said, “I didn’t shoot at him. The bullet was shot by mistake. He hit me with his car and drove it over me three times with the intention to kill me. I demand that my FIR must be registered.” The eyewitness, Sana Khan, said, “The police just waylaid us and tried to stop us forcefully. Sir (Vivek Tiwari) didn’t stop the car. We didn’t realise who they were. There was no accident. We were trying to leave from the side. We hit the bike but they had already gotten off the bike. One of them had a lathi. The man in the front just threw a revolver and fired.”

Initially, it was being considered that the shocking murder case took place due to an unintentional gunshot. However, the wife of deceased Vivek Tiwari sought for a fresh FIR and justice for her husband asking for all her demands to be fulfilled.

The accused were arrested and a case was registered against them. The accused were charged under Section 302 (Punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.) A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was organized to probe the murder case.
