A disturbing incident took place in a government school near Bengaluru when a teacher was set on fire by a former business partner in front of her students.

The teacher was rushed to a hospital but the doctors have said her condition is critical. The police in the area have filed a case and an investigation is going on.

Reports revealed the incident took place in Magadi Tehsil that is 60 kms from the city of Bengaluru.

The victim has been identified as 50 year old Sunanda a social science teacher. On Wednesday, around 2 P.M., she was teaching a class of 5th standard students. In the middle of her class, her former business partner identified as Renukadharya entered her class. Renukadharya started shouting at Sunanda and the argument between the two got heated. Finally, Sunanda asked Renukadharya to leave her classroom.

Renukadharya was angry and poured kerosene on Sunanda and set her on fire. The students were in shock and unable to help they started crying out for someone to come to the teacher’s rescue.

The school staff was alerted with the cries of the students and rushed to the classroom and put out the fire.

The doctors at the hospital revealed that she suffered 50% burn injuries on her body. Due to her serious injuries, Sunanda has been put under round the clock observation.

The police was informed about the incident and rushed to the hospital. The police took statements from the students and registered a case. A search party has been sent out to find the accused.
